Extra Credit for History
Parents,
I hope to instill in your child a LOVE of history. Because I feel that history is so important, I will award bonus points to students who visit state parks, national parks, and/or historical places or events.

Examples include: The USS Alabama, Vulcan, Oneonta's covered bridges, The Battle of Horseshoe Bend, Cheaha State Park, Ivey Green (Helen Keller's birthplace), Dauphin Island, DeSoto Caverns, etc.
I will need to approve the visit for your child to receive credit unless it is listed below.
Visit any state park or historical sight druing Spring Break and receive 100 bonus points. Bring a picture or item purchased. Wri te a paragraph about what you learned. (100 bonus points) An example would be Noccalula Falls in Gadsden, Stone Mountain in Georgia, Rock City in Chattanooga, Callaway Gardens in Georgia, and/or any battle reenactment.
Any Historical site may be visited throughout the year to earn bonus points. Students must write a 1/2 page about what they learned from the visit. Each visit will result in bonus points.
*No more than 4 bonuses will be accepted per nine weeks.
